Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist MBACP
Therapeutic Arts
I trained and qualified as an Child Counsellor using the arts as I was inspired to combine two of my greatest joys; art and children. As a creative and higly intuitive person, I have experienced the healing power of art, and as a parent I have a long-held commitment to the well-being of all children.
Over the last two years I have also been offering focused support to parents, guiding them in achieving a more harmonious home through the practise of Conscious Parenting.
About me
My practise is based on the Therapeutic Arts, a respected and effective approach to help children cope and better manage their emotional and behavioural challenges. I use the arts (in the form of sandtray, clay, stones, cards, puppet role-play, etc) as an exploratory, fun and creative medium. This technique has become increasingly popular as it combines traditional talk therapy with the therapeutic qualities of making art.

I work with children who may be struggling with ‘big feelings’ like sibling rivalry, anxiety, bullying, school avoidance or low self esteem. As well as the challenges to cope with a breakdown in an adult relationship like divorce or bereavement, and the impact of the recent Lockdowns.

Over the last 2 years, I have seen a significant rise in parental anxiety, stress and worry. To be able to effectively guide Parents I have created a new, dedicated Conscious Parenting Clinic. Through my extensive experience, as well as being a parent myself, I work closely with families to co-create a home environment of respect, harmony and happiness.

Services
My Petersfield-based practise has grown exponentially over the last few years and I have expanded from working solely with children and adolescents to include focused Conscious Parenting support. I have also co-created successful school programmes, teaching children to recognise and manage their emotions, in addition to working with small groups of Children, Educators and Health Care Practitioners.
1:1 Child & Adolescent Counselling
1:1 Child Counselling
I address children's behavioural, developmental and emotional needs in a safe, neutral environment, engaging the Therapeutic Arts. This technique is especially helpful for children who may have difficulty expressing themselves verbally.

Creative Counselling uses art media as its primary mode of expression and communication. Within this context, art is not used as a diagnostic tool but as a medium to address emotional issues which may be confusing and distressing. Many children find this approach enormously beneficial and very effective at resolving issues by getting to the root of their behavioural and emotional difficulties.

Conscious Parenting Support
The Conscious Parenting Clinic equips parents with tools to support and guide their child, whilst becoming a better parent in the process.
The ‘Conscious Parenting’ approach shifts the focus away from the child onto the adults' actual experiences as a parent.
This involves creating a safe space where parents can reflect on their current parenting style. The process will facilitate a better understanding of unconscious patterns and behaviours, opening the door to becoming a more present and aware parent.
Resilience Building
in Schools
'Pathways to Resilience'
Pathways to Resilience is a 10 week programme for Children and Adolescents, designed to improve the key skills they need to become resilient to life's challenges. These may include stresses linked to bullying, social media or low self-esteem.

The programme enhances the child's levels of resilience and teaches them how to maintain emotional balance in an increasingly challenging society. This is done through tailored workshops that give children a range of tools they can use in times of stress, anxiety and overwhelm as well as help them to understand what is happening in their brains (psycheducation) and in their bodies (physiology).
